Mind clutter

My mind is full of clutter and this is the way I keep myself sane.
With all the chattering going on, I do not allow myself to think.
I am so busy listening to all the noises until it numbed me.
Thus I go on to live for another day.

This sad life

Fear

One of the greatest forces in life is fear, it spurs you on.

Friday, August 27, 2010

Fighting your fear

It is not possible for a man to abandon himself to fear for years, then finally conquer it. If he gives in to fear he will never conquer it, because he will shy away from learning and never try again. But if he tries to learn for years in the midst of his fear, he will eventually conquer it because he will never have really abandoned himself to it.

Therefore he must not run away. He must defy his fear, and in spite of it he must take the next step in learning, and the next, and the next. He must be fully afraid, and yet he must not stop.

The Path

Anything is one of a million paths.  Always keep in mind that a path is only a path; if you feel you should not follow it , than do not follow it under any conditions. To have such clarity you must lead a disciplined life. Only then will you know that any path is only a path and there is no affront, to oneself or to others, in dropping it if that is what your heart tells you to do. But your decision to keep on the path or to leave it must be free of fear or ambition.

All paths are the same: they lead nowhere. They are paths going through the bush, or into the bush. This question is one that only a very old man asks. Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't, it is of no use. Both paths lead nowhere; but one has a heart, the other doesn't. One makes for a joyful journey, the other will make you curse your life. One makes you strong; the other weakens you.

Fate

It does not matter what our specific fate is as long as we face it with ultimate abandon.

Needle and thread

The thread will always follow the needle...you are the needle and I am the thread...thus wherever you go I will follow

Breathe

Breathing can transform your life.
If you feel stressed out and overwhelmed, breathe. It will calm you and release the tensions.
If you are worried about something coming up, or caught up in something that already happened, breathe. It will bring you back to the present.
If you are discouraged and have forgotten your purpose in life, breathe. It will remind you about how precious life is, and that each breath in this life is a gift you need to appreciate.
If you have too many tasks to do, or are scattered during your workday, breathe. It will help bring you into focus, to concentrate on the most important task you need to be focusing on right now.
If you are spending time with someone you love, breathe. It will allow you to be present with that person, rather than thinking about work or other things you need to do.
If you are moving too fast, breathe. It will remind you to slow down, and enjoy life more.
So breathe. And enjoy each moment of this life. They’re too fleeting and few to waste.

This Is Just To Say

I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox

and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast

Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold

Things We Think About But Do Not Say

What would happen if we started being honest with ourselves about what we really want?

What if we started being ruthlessly real? What if we actually said the things that we think about, but are afraid to say?

Fools that we are

It is true that you may fool all of the people some of the time;
you can even fool some of the people all of the time;
but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.

words create

Words create! The words we use (whether in speech or thought) play a central role in generating our perspective and feelings. Our feelings generate actions and our actions generate results. It all starts with words.

The whole world is created by WORDS. We have the extraordinary power to speak our world into existence! We have the ability to create with our words; to start to bring into being what we truly want out of the infinite potential of our own soul. Just as the creation of the universe began with words and is sustained with words, so too every creative process. The words we use actually bring things to life--and when we stop using those words, or change them, we will inevitably create something completely new.

words create

Words of love create nurturing and connection. Words of praise inspire confidence and peace. Words of hope generate positive action. Words of encouragement bring courage into being. Words of vision cause the soul to come alive.

So choose your words with care--and let there be life!

words

We need encouragements from time to time. Some times all the times. None of us are immune to depressions.

Today, boost a friend’s spirit. You never know when a few kind words will turn someone’s day around. Maybe even save their life.

Her Life

She said she usually cried at least once each day not because she was sad, but because the world was so beautiful and life was short.

People

People react differently at different time, at different situation, at different surrounding, with different people. Thus your enemy can be an ally and an ally turn to an enemy.

Loyalty is earned or bought.

Reflection

La Liberté

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door.

Source of my woes

I know not if I read your heart right;
Why, pitiless, do you distress me so?
I only know that longing day and night
Tosses my restless body to and fro,
That yearns for you, the source of all its woe.

Shakuntala

it is about you

It's surprising how many persons go through life without ever recognizing that their feelings toward other people are largely determined by their feelings toward themselves, and if you're not comfortable within yourself, you can't be comfortable with others. - Sidney J. Harris

Before you try to change others, remember how hard it is to change yourself. - Bill Bluestein

In the battle field

When you are in the battle field...do not have any doubt whatsoever...if you hesitate than the enemy has won half the battle...for in the battle field you do not ask questions..you fight to win

Oscar Wilde

We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.

Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passion a quotation.

There are only two kinds of people who are really fascinating. People who know absolutely everything and people who know absolutely nothing.

Omar Khayyam

Be happy for this moment...this moment is your life.

Pass, therefore, not today in vain…for it will never come again.

When I want to understand what is happening today or try to decide what will happen tomorrow...I look back.

Ode to lost love

You can shed tears that she is gone,
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all she's left

Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her only that she is gone,
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what she'd want;
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

In times of darkness, one must simply stop searching for the light, and become the glow for others to follow

Letting go

Letting go... it doesn't mean giving up... it means moving on. It is one of the hardest things a person can do. Starting at birth, we grasp on to anything we can get our hands on, and hold on as if we will cease to exist if we let go. We feel that letting go is giving up, quitting.

But as we grow older we change, we realize that sometime letting go means accepting things that cannot be. It means maturing and moving on, no matter how hard you have to fight yourself to do so.

Searching for answer

In a world where we are all searching for the right answers, often without results, have you ever given thought to what the right questions are?

Moving On

I am moving on
reaching toward my hopes and dreams
It has taken me far too long
to reach this place, it seems

My fears may try to hold me back
To try and block my way
But with courage and faith in my heart
I will get there come what may

The road will be a long one,
And it may be rocky, too
But when I reach this place in time,
My dreams could all shine through

Though I have been tossed and turned in life's storms
I will surely see a brighter dawn
I'm no longer held back by my fears
I'm finally....Moving On
Alan Murray
