Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...
If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.
Come on guys, cheer up!
Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
I mean - what have you got to lose?
You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing.
What have you lost? Nothing!

Be happy
Make others happy
Rise above defeat and trouble
Look upon each day as a new day
Do your best and leave the rest to God
Do not waste time and energy in useless worry
Look only on the bright side of life
Do not be afraid of tomorrow
Have a kind word and deed for everyone
Say each morning - I am a child of God and nothing can hurt me
Make others happy
Rise above defeat and trouble
Look upon each day as a new day

This Too Shall Pass
If I can endure for this minute
Whatever is happening to me,
No matter how heavy my heart is
Or how dark the moment may be-
If I can remain calm and quiet
With all the world crashing about me,
Secure in the knowledge God loves me
When everyone else seems to doubt me-
If I can but keep on believing
What I know in my heart to be true,
That darkness will fade with the morning
And that this will pass away, too-
Then nothing in life can defeat me
For as long as this knowledge remains
I can suffer whatever is happening
For I know God will break all of the chains
That are binding me tight in the darkness
And trying to fill me with fear-
For there is no night without dawning
And I know that my morning is near.

For Reflection V
Men are making speeches...all over the country, but each expresses only the thought, or the want of thought, of the multitude. No man stands on truth. They are merely banded together as usual, one leaning on another and all together on nothing; as the legend that made the world rest on an elephant, and the elephant on a swimming tortoise carrying everything.

I want to believe
Why people can be made to believe on stupid things
Concentrate on their opponents' weak points, while rarely saying anything definitive about their own position.
Exploit errors made by scholars who are making opposing arguments, implying that because a few of their opponents' conclusions were wrong, all of their opponents' conclusions must be wrong.
Use quotations, usually taken out of context to buttress their own position.
Make them mistake genuine, honest debates between scholars about certain points within a field for a dispute about the existence of the entire field.
Focus on what is not known and ignore what is known, emphasize data that fit (their distorted world view) and discount data that do not fit.

Ineffective People
Not showing up.
Procrastinating half the day.
When actually doing something, doing something that isn’t the most important thing right now.
Thinking too much.
Seeing the negative and downsides in just about anything.
Clinging to your own thoughts and being closed to outside influences.
Constantly on information overload.

Why smart people defend bad ideas
They can follow stupid leaders
They may follow their anger into stupid places
They may be trained or educated into stupidity
They inherit bad ideas from their parents under the guise of tradition
They may simply want something to be true, that can never be

Often we need not so much to be taught as to be reminded...
C. S. Lewis
How many times over the years have we reached for that scrap of paper or underlined a passage or quotation in a book, noting something that seemed wise and useful. However, as we review the notes, we frequently come upon some guideline to positive thought or behavior that we have simply let adrift from our memory and have neglected to practice.
My trouble is I analyze life instead of living it.

Confidence
I can remember when someone asked me where my confidence came from. I thought for a moment and realized that a lot of it comes from discipline, and from having a firm foundation. My father always told me “Know everything you can about what you’re doing”-- in other words, cover your bases, be thorough. This sounds very simple but it was a very good advice that I have followed and it has obviously worked.
Another thing about being thorough is that it can eliminate any potential blind spots from the big picture. It can give you an edge and this too involves discipline--it takes time, effort and focus to be comprehensive. A good question to ask yourself is “What am I pretending not to see?” As an example, I held negotiations with people who failed to take into account how a 72 story skyscraper would be supported without the steel columns because they were so excited about building a public atrium similar to the one in Trump Tower. That’s a major blind spot that should have been addressed before our meeting. Being on shaky ground took on a new meaning after that meeting.Preparation is a discipline that will open the door to confidence more quickly than you might imagine. We all know the feeling of having studied enough to max an exam, or to give a great presentation or speech. Many things can happen that are out of our control, but being prepared can definitely set you up in the right direction for success.

Curiosity
One thing I’ve learned over the years is that curiosity is a good way to stay stimulated and informed as well as young. Ever notice that children are curious about everything? That’s how they learn and the same thing should apply to adults.
People have often commented that I ask a lot of questions, which is true, and it’s one way I’ve learned a lot. I can remember when I was deciding on what type of bathroom sink to install in a new property, so I kept three samples on a sofa in my front offices. I would ask everyone who came in which sink they liked best and why. I was genuinely interested in their comments, and while the final decision is mine, I had a lot of perspectives to consider and felt I could make a very informed decision. People were surprised I took such an interest in their opinions but details matter to me and their opinions mattered as well.
Curiosity also provides a starting point for discovery. It’s a bit like research once you find something of interest, the natural inclination is to learn more about it. Sometimes it may not have anything to do with your current endeavor, but it can broaden your understanding. I don’t believe any knowledge is wasted. My interests are diverse largely because I’m curious, which has certainly helped me as a business man.I had a great deal to learn, but this is one reason I emphasize the importance of learning everything you can along the way. You never know when it will be useful. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.

You Can Be in Charge
That’s an empowering thought. It’s also a real possibility. If it seems you are being thrown curve balls every day, that means it’s time for some strategy. In short, you need to be bigger than your problems in order to handle what’s being delivered. Here are a few things to think about.
You probably have talents that could be further developed to create a career.
Are you lucky? Some people seem to be naturally lucky.
Be pro-active. Do not be passive or fearful. Just taking the next step can get you to better and even great places.
Start today.
Be objective and strive to be your own counselor. I listen to others but I know the final decision is mine and I hold myself responsible. That in itself is empowering. If you haven’t given history enough attention, start doing so today. Also, realize you are in a pivotal time in history, and see it as a challenge as well as an opportunity.
Learning to take control will do wonders for your future as well as the present. If you start today, you can be in charge.

The Great Thing
The great thing in the world is not so much where we stand as in what direction we are moving...Oliver Wendell Holmes
This quote brings home a powerful thought, and it has to do with circumstances. Many people are dealing with difficult circumstances now and it’s important to remember that it can be a temporary situation. As long as we keep moving forward, things are certain to change.Keeping things in perspective is helpful. I have mentioned before that a fear should be labeled a concern, as that allows for more objectivity. I also ask myself, “is this a blip or is it a catastrophe?” An earthquake, a war, a tsunami--those are catastrophic events. Suddenly our problems take on a different slant when compared with disasters.
Another empowering stance to take with circumstances is not to let them define you. You can be in tough times and still retain your integrity and control. Control can mean controlling your thoughts in the direction you want to go. See yourself as being lucky--suddenly things can take on a whole new dynamic and you’ll be opening yourself up to change in a most positive way.

Being well informed
I remember hearing someone say “I am not an intellectual, but I’m well informed” when they were talking about their interests, and I thought that statement was well put. People are surprised when they discover the variety of subjects I am interested in, but that comes with paying attention to newspapers, magazines, television coverage and the Internet. If you stop to consider how much information is given out on a daily basis, there’s very little reason not to be well informed.
Give yourself opportunities by refusing to limit yourself. I may be a businessman, but I attend concerts, read history books and biographies, listen to music, watch sports and play golf. I don’t put borders on myself or on my interests, and I’m always looking to learn something new.Don’t be afraid to expand your horizons by expanding your base of knowledge. Use curiosity to your advantage by paying attention to things that may not be in your line of business--it’s a form of lateral thinking that could be a catalyst to a new sound that becomes a record breaker.

Tenacity
Henry Ford said “Don’t find a fault. Find a remedy.” That statement can cover a lot of territory in our business lives as well as personal lives. I have often said that one way out of a problem is to focus on the solution, which is a similar take. The next step is tenacity. People who know me know that I don’t give up. I’m someone who stays the course and sometimes it can take decades.
One thing I’ve learned that can be helpful to you is that I expect problems. Nothing worth doing is easy, and while I come to the office every day with positive expectations, I also know it’d be a strange day if there weren’t any problems to deal with. So learn to expect them. Here’s another tip: don’t see problems so much as problems as challenges. That can change your attitude about them and give you an edge in finding a remedy.

More You Learn, More You Realize What You Don't Know
Sometimes we are so zealous to become successful that we forget about what is significant. The background for success should include some intrinsic values as well as monetary values. We should be aware of our culture and other cultures, our history and other history, and not live in what has been termed "a cultural vacuum." Someone once said that not knowing history was like being a leaf that didn't know it was part of a tree. That's an interesting visual and it applies to many people. We are individually responsible for our education.
I see no value whatsoever in believing ignorance to be an attribute. It's good to start each day by saying to yourself, "What can I learn today that I didn't know before?" It opens you up to more information and net worth as an individual. Why live restricted lives due to lack of knowledge when there are so many resources available to us today? The world didn't start with your birth and it won't end with your death either. That doesn't mean you're not a part of the scheme of things. To the contrary, it means that you are.
Back to the leaf image. What if you know you are a leaf, but you're not sure what a tree is? I'd say the best thing to do is to find out what a tree is. It's pretty simple. It reminds me of an Apprentice task that's enough of a challenge to set the apprentice out to discover and research some things before they jump in to the task at hand.
Take my advice and never be a know-it-all. First of all, it's impossible to know everything, and second of all, it's just no fun, for you or anyone else. And third, you will be missing out on some great adventures. So remember to think big by expanding your horizons at the same time you're expanding your net worth. That's what significant success is about.

extract from the intenet
The more you know, the more you realise how much you don't know...the less you know, the more you think you know...David T Freeman
That is what's great about it...I'd hate to have it any other way.
Becoming better and learning is what gets me out of bed every day.
As long as my self expectations are always beyond my abilities, I will grow and learn from everything I do
Learning the way to go.
An adult is a person who learns from their mistakes.
Craftsman knows how to avoid mistakes, Artist know how to use them.
A wise person learn from the mistakes of others.
There is always something more to learn.
Sure, who knows everything...I suspect none...every time we share our little knowledge or help doing something we come back with way more than when we went there with. We learn with every step we take, be it backwards or forward. And the most important thing, we should love learning new things. Someone that does not like learning, even if they know a lot, their knowledge will get old soon.

Hugh Prather - Notes to Myself
I am responsible for what I see.
I can elect to change all thoughts that hurt.
I could see peace instead of THIS.
The past is over - it can touch me not.
This instant is the only time there is.
Today I will judge nothing that occurs.
I am not the victim of the world I see.
I can escape from the world I see by giving up attack thoughts.
I am determined to see things differently.
I am never upset for the reason I think.
Forgiveness is the key to happiness

Honesty
Honesty is such a lonely word.
Everyone is so untrue.
Honesty is hardly ever heard.
And mostly what I need from you.
If you search for tenderness
it isn't hard to find.
You can have the love you need to live.
But if you look for truthfulness
You might just as well be blind.
It always seems to be so hard to give.
I can always find someone
to say they sympathize.
If I wear my heart out on my sleeve.
But I don't want some pretty face
to tell me pretty lies.
All I want is someone to believe.
Anyone can comfort me
with promises again.
I know, I know.
But when I want sincerity
tell me where else can I turn.
Because you're the one I depend upon.
Honesty is such a lonely word.
Everyone is so untrue.
Honesty is hardly ever heard.
And mostly what I need from you.

For the first time
Are those your eyes? Is that your smile?
I been looking at you for ever,
Yet I never saw you before.
Are these your hands? Holding mine?
Now I wonder how I could have been so blind.
And for the first time, I am looking in your eyes.
Can this be real? Can this be true?
Am I the person I was this morning?
And are you the same you?
Its all so strange. How can it be?
All along this love was right in front of me!
And for the first time, I am looking in your eyes.
And for the first time, I am looking in your eyes.
For the first time, I am seeing who you are.
I can't believe how much I see,
When you're looking back at me.
Now I understand what love is...
For the first time.

I can't believe how much I see,
When you're looking back at me.
Now I understand what love is...
For the first time.

Michelle, my belle
Michelle, my belle.
Sont des mots qui vont très bien ensemble,
My Michelle.
I love you, I love you, I love you.
That's all I want to say. Until I find a way
I will say the only words I know that
You'll understand.
I need to, I need to, I need to.
I need to make you see, Oh! what you mean to me.
Until I do I'm hoping you will
Know what I mean.
I want you, I want you, I want you.
I think you know by now I'll get to you somehow.
Until I do I'm telling you so
You'll understand.
I will say the only words I know that
You'll understand, my Michelle.
I love you...

Titipan rindu
Wahai Bayu,
Sambutlah titipan rinduku
Dendangkan lah kepada nya
Yang hatiku ini mengharap
Bahawa disana merindu jua
Sambutlah titipan rinduku
Dendangkan lah kepada nya
Yang hatiku ini mengharap
Bahawa disana merindu jua
