A very learned man came to a monk to inquire about wisdom. When the monk served him tea, he poured his visitor’s cup full and kept on pouring till it over flow. The very learned man watched the overflow until he no longer could restrain himself. “the cup is overfull. No more will go in!”
“Like this cup,” the monk said, “you are full of your own opinions and speculations. How can I show you wisdom unless you first empty your cup?”
